The province has announced $2 million in funding for Aboriginal scholarships.
The scholarships will be for Aboriginal students pursuing graduate and doctoral level degrees at public universities in BC.
Premier Christy Clark announced the funding during the closing remarks at the BC Cabinet-First Nations Gathering in Vancouver.
The scholarships of up to $5,000 each are to improve Aboriginal access and participation in higher levels of academia.
The awards are granted through the Irving K. Barber BC Scholarship Society.
