Police say it’s reminder that all firearms should be treated as though they are loaded.
A 40-year-old Quesnel man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound Saturday night.
RCMP and BC Ambulance crews were called to a report of a shooting on Callis road and found the man with a wound to his arm.
Investigators say the victim had been accidentally shot by a 42-year-old family member while the weapon was being handled.
RCMP say both people believed the gun was unloaded at the time of the incident.
The shooting victim was treated for non life threatening injuries at GR Baker Hospital and released.
Police are still investigating.
