A Burns Lake area man charged with first degree murder is back behind bars.
The BC Prosecution Service confirms that Albert Giesbrecht was arrested and returned to custody Wednesday.
Giesbrecht is charged in the death of of Raymond George Bishop last May.
Local residents and members of Bishop’s family were angered when a judge released Giesbrecht on 22 conditions last month.
The BC Prosecution Service says Crown will ask that Giesbrecht’s bail be revoked and that he remain in custody until trial.
Officials provided no comment on the reasons for Giesbrecht’s re-arrest, other than that it was “pursuant to the provisions of s. 524 of the Criminal Code”.
