Unforseen developments have thrown a wrench in plans to bring affordable housing to Terrace.
TDCSS teamed up with BC Housing in 2016 to convert the former Cedars Motel in to 23 affordable bachelor apartment units.
Recently, it became clear that much more work than initially thought needed to be done to perform the conversion.
These new discoveries left the budget short nearly 1.4 million dollars.
While BC Housing was able to come up with most of the money, TDCSS took to City Council yesterday to request 100 thousand from the Affordable Housing Fund.
Council carried the request, which would see the fund have 170 thousand remaining following the proposal.
