Air Canada has suspended direct flights from Terrace to Calgary.
Angela Mah, spokesperson for Air Canada says it’s a business decision based on changing economics in Alberta.
The direct flights began this June.
Mah adds that the markets are regularly reviewed, and flights are adjusted as conditions change.
Northwest Regional Airport manager, Carman Hendry says its common for airlines to slow down operations during the winter, and he expects service to resume in the spring.
He says the airport had forecast passenger numbers to go down with the completion of several projects in the region.
