I always find it super awkward figuring out what to tell people about myself. I’m never sure what people will find interesting or what they’ll find completely boring. I’ll try my best to cater to everyone.
Let’s see, I’m a Pisces, I like long walks on the beach, movies at night…wait, this sounds like a Personals ad….let me start over!
I grew up in Calgary, Alberta. Let’s get this out of the way up front, I am a Flames fan. And no amount of threats, egging, jerseying, or otherwise is going to change my mind. So don’t even try!
I am married to an amazing man named Scott and the step-mother to two incredible children; Kimberley and Jordan. The three of them keep me young…or crazy. I haven’t quite figured out which yet. I also have a cat and a dog….our household is 50/50 split male versus female, but I don’t think I need to clarify which gender rules the roost.
I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Earth Sciences, with a future goal of earning my PhD in Volcanology. Which I hope to pay for on a radio salary. 😉 I spent a year in Seattle at Mount St. Helens and worked for the United States Forest Service. Hands down the MOST incredible experience of my life. On my vacations, you can most likely find me back at my volcano hiking or teaching monument visitors about the eruptive history of that gem.
I spent about 12 years in radio, 3 in finance, and held a variety of odd careers in my life. I was even a telemarketer in Calgary for a whopping 12 hours! Between you and me, I’d much rather sell mutual funds than newspaper subscriptions.
I love to cross-stitch, camp, kayak and take random road-trips….anywhere! I’m also a fan of hiking and in Spring of 2019, I plan to cross off a major bucket list item, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, all 2600 miles of it.
I think that about sums me up. You can find me filling in on weekends or wherever they need me. I look forward to getting to know the CFNR listeners more and seeing you all out and about in the community.
