Road dust is once again getting the blame for poor air quality across the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.
The environment ministry and Northern Health have issued an air quality advisory for Houston, Burns Lake, Smithers, and Telkwa.
Officials say very high concentrations of coarse particulates due to road dust and fine particulates are expected to continue with the current weather conditions.
People should avoid strenuous outdoor activities while those with chronic underlying health conditions should try to stay indoors during the advisory.
Wood-burning is prohibited by clean air bylaws in Smithers, Burns Lake, and Houston during air advisories unless it’s the sole source of heat for a home.
