Alcohol suspected in Vanderhoof area crash

RCMP has provided more information about an overnight crash between Vanderhoof and Fort St. James.

Investigators say a single vehicle ended up in the ditch along Highway 27 near the Barlow Forest Service Road shortly before midnight Sunday.

The 43 year-old driver of the vehicle, a resident of Fort St. James, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed for several hours, but has since been reopened to traffic.

RCMP suspect alcohol as a factor in the crash.
