Former Vancouver Olympic CEO John Furlong calls it the end of an “almost unimaginable nightmare”.
Furlong held a news conference in Vancouver this morning, saying he feels vindicated now that a judge has dismissed the third and final sex abuse lawsuit against him.
While he didn’t answer questions from reporters, he did issue a statement to the media.
A B.C. Supreme Court judge Monday threw out a civil claim filed by a Prince Rupert man who claimed Furlong abused him at a Burns Lake Roman Catholic school decades ago.
Previous suits by two women making similar allegations were dropped or withdrawn.
Furlong says it’s now time to move on.
While Furlong has dropped his legal action, Robinson says she plans to pursue her counter-suit against the former VANOC CEO and says she looks forward to her day in court.
