A grade six student from Anahim Lake got the trip of a lifetime when he got to meet his hockey hero.
Leon Trent got the VIP treatment from Air Canada and the Breakfast Club of Canada to meet the Hab’s Carey Price in Montreal.
Price, who’s from Anahim Lake, is an ambassador for the Breakfast Club of Canada.
The group provides money and financing for schools to provide hot breakfasts for students.
Mikel Brogan is the principal of Anahim Lake Elementary-Junior Secondary School, he says Carey Price is an excellent role model for the kids.
Despite being a star NHL goaltender, Price still goes back to Anahim Lake every summer, and maintains close ties with the community.
Price’s mother was a former chief with the Ulkatcho First Nation.
Trent not only got to meet his hero, and shoot some pucks at him, he also delivered a stack of thank you cards from the Anahim Lake students, a gift that made Price emotional.
Principal Brogan says Trent is a quiet student, but is a strong lead by example type person.
These are the few words Trent had to say.
