Another air advisory has been issued for Houston.
High quanities of air particulate PM2.5, are developing under the current high pressure system.
Wood smoke is being trapped in an air inversion, according to a release by Northern Health and the Ministry of Environment.
It’s advised to avoid strenuous activities, and to keep windows and doors closed to reduce exposure.
Exposure is a particular concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
Officials say the advisory could remain in place this week and possibly into the weekend.
Houston has a by-law that kicks in when an advisory is issued.
People are directed not to use their wood stoves until the advisory is lifted, unless it’s your sole means of heating.
