Environment Canada says Terrace and Kitimat should brace for some chilly conditions Thursday night.
Forecasters have issued an Arctic outflow warning for the region with strong wind and cold wind chill values of minus 20 expected.
Environment Canada says a strong Arctic ridge of high pressure will start to build over the BC Interior tonight. As Arctic air establishes itself, it will begin to spill out to the coast through lower mountain passes generating strong outflow winds.
The Arctic Outflow weather pattern is expected to last until at least Sunday morning.
Forecasters say residents should be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds.
