North Coast inland sections are facing another arctic outflow warning.
Strong outflow winds and cold wind chill values are expected or occurring.
A ridge of high-pressure building over the B.C. interior is forcing cold Arctic air to spill out of North and Central Coast inland valleys, producing low wind chill values.
Communities over the inland North Coast such as Terrace are already experiencing wind chill values in the low minus 20’s and these values will persist until tomorrow afternoon.
Communities over the inland Central Coast are experiencing wind chill values near minus 15 this morning. As the Arctic air becomes entrenched tonight, wind chill values will plummet to around minus 20 before starting to warm tomorrow afternoon.
Limit outdoor activities. Minimize exposed skin with hats, scarves and mittens or gloves. Anyone who is not dressed warmly is at risk of frostbite and hypothermia in cold weather.
