Hundreds of artists across the province are set to benefit from nearly 4 million dollars in BC Arts Council grants.
This year’s funding surpasses last years by more than 1 million dollars thanks to increased government support in the Council.
The latest round of funding will be split between project assistance, early career development, operating assistance for non-profits, media arts, strategic opportunities, and scholarships.
Thanks to the increase in funding, a total of 876 thousand will go towards not-for-profit organizations which support the development of arts and culture.
In their 2018 budget, the province increased funding for the BC Arts Council by 15 million dollars over the next 3 years.
