BC Ferries has unveiled the artwork that will adorn the newest member of its fleet.
Designs by Nuxalk artist Danika Naccarella and the Kwakiutl First Nation’s Richard Hunt were revealed Friday in Victoria.
BC Ferries issued a call for Indigenous artists and writers last December which was facilitated by the First Peoples’ Cultural Council.
Council CEO Tracy Herbert says she will be proud to see the vessel and its artwork travel the coast of BC for years to come.
The Northern Sea Wolf was brought on for direct summer service between Bella Coola and Port Hardy along with once a week connector service between Bella Coola, Bella Bella, Shearwater, and Ocean Falls.
