North Coast residents will get a chance today to comment — and to ask questions — about a liquefied natural gas project proposed for the southeast corner of Digby Island.
The B.C. Environmental Assessment Agency is examining the Aurora LNG project and will host an open house in Prince Rupert this evening. Several residents of Dodge Cove have voiced opposition to the project, which would be built within one kilometre of some residential properties there.
Chinese-owned Nexen Energy officially began the regulatory process for the project last month with an application for an environmental assessment certificate and the public comment period ends March 9th.
