Aurora LNG has backed out of a plan to build a plant, saying that they economy doesn’t support its vision.
The plant was slated to be a large operation on Digby Island and is a partnership with Calgary-based Nexen.
The companies say this was a strategic decision and they will cease all investigation activity immediately.
Over the past four years they have been conducting a feasibilty study on shipping LNG from the northwest to Asian markets.
Online the company posts that they are disappointed with the outcome, but Horn River natural gas assets will continue.
