I grew up in Calgary and moved to Terrace in 2002. I have an amazing husband and two equally amazing stepchildren. I attended SAIT for Broadcasting from 2000-2002 and University of Washington in Seattle for Earth and Space Sciences, I graduated in 2009. I love kayaking, camping, cross-stitching, random road trips and hiking; anything to do with the outdoors I'm usually there!

T’Is the Season to give Thanks….and recall amazing Thanksgiving TV episodes

It’s the time of year to give thanks, and one thing we are all thankful for is Thanksgiving episodes of our favorite television shows, there are so many, it’s hard to just narrow it down to a few, but here I try: 1. Summer Fun

I don’t know about you, but summer has flown by on my end.  Between extra-curriculars with the Hospital Foundation like our Kitsumkalum Tempo Fishing Derby a couple weeks back, my work schedule, my daughter’s graduation, all my training hikes and now an upcoming trip planned for Seattle, it’s been craziness. But a good crazy…like the “keeps you out of trouble ... Read More »

Little Wins

I’ve been at CFNR a couple months now, time to get a little more personal.  Hahaha, what a way to start a blog. Honestly though, those listeners who know me personally know I have very large goals, aside from hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019, an even bigger goal for myself is working towards a 100-pound weight loss.  This ... I think I have gone Crazy….

One thing you will learn about me…I always have something on the go.  A goal I’m trying to achieve, or something I want to cross off my bucket list. I made a promise to myself that before I turn 40, I will thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail….all 2,600+ miles of it.  The trek will take me approximately 5 and 1/2 ... Read More »

Hair to Bare- The Burbee Chronicles

It always amazes me how people get on board for the most incredible things.  We certainly are a community filled with givers.  I’ve seen it time and again and makes me so happy that I live in such an incredible place. My friend Tom Burbee is no exception.  Tom will admit he’s not exactly regimented when it comes to haircuts, ... Read More »

Long Weekend Plans and the Incredible Blue Band

Another Victoria Day long weekend.  The first camping weekend of the year, the weekend where all the parks are finally open for campers, tenters and RV’s alike.  Are you camping this weekend? My long weekend plans include working.  Between CFNR and my work at the restaurant, I’m a busy gal.  My hubby has even beat me to camping…..twice already this ... Read More »

Mothers Day 2016

Hi all; I just got back from a 4-day trip to my hometown of Calgary.  It was an incredible time, but everytime I go home, I leave missing it and my family more and more.  The purpose of my trip this time around was to surprise my mother for Mother’s Day.  For the past 4 months I said NOTHING to ...
