Avalanche Canada is extending its avalanche warning for the back country.
The warning was first issued on March 29th, but now is in effect until April 3rd.
This warning applies to the North Rockies, Cariboos, North and South Columbias, Purcells and the Kootenay-Boundary.
Backcountry users are urged to stay away from avalanche terrain, or at least start trips in the morning when it’s still cold and before the sun rises, and to be out of avalanche terrain by the early afternoon at the latest.
Avalanche Canada also urges people to have proper equipment and avalanche training.
