Rough weather conditions through the day yesterday led to extreme fire behaviour for the group of fires in the Bulkley-Nechako known as the Babine Complex.
Fire Information Officer Brian Hearnden (Hurn-din) says that light rain today won’t have much of an impact as continued wind shifts will make things rough for crews again.
Evacuation alerts and orders were expanded overnight and this morning for the Shovel Lake, Verdun, and Nadina Lake wildfires.
Firefighters did get some news though as, according to Hearnden, both the Island Lake and the Gilmore Lake fire remained relatively quiet.
