Babine Forest Products Inquest begins with emotional testimony

The opening day of a Coroners Inquest examining a fatal mill explosion near Burns Lake heard emotional testimony from the families of two men killed in the blast.

Robert Luggi’s wife Maureen Luggi told the inquest that she felt a premonition that something bad was going to happen just prior to the January, 2012  explosion that leveled the Babine Forest Products Mill.

Lucy Campbell, who described her brother Carl Charlie generous and dedicated to his family, outlined what she hopes the inquest will provide.

Testimony from both of the women brought some of the 60 people at the inquest to tears.

The inquest is scheduled to hear from a WorkSafe BC official and an expert on wood dust.
