The Regional Chief of the BC Assembly of First Nations says his organization wants to know more about the federal government’s strategy for a national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
The issue was the subject of two panel discussions at the BC AFN’s Special Chiefs Assembly in Laxgalts’ap Tuesday
Regional Chief Shane Gottfriedson says the federal government has so far been very quiet about what it’s plans for an inquiry will be.
Gottfriedson says he wants to see an inclusive process.
He says he expects that more will be known about the resources of the inquiry when the federal budget is released later this month.
