While a test of the country’s new emergency alert system was largely successful in BC yesterday, some phones failed to light up.
Emergency Management BC, who issued the alerts on behalf of the government and CRTC, say they working tirelessly to figure out the issue.
Ian Lightbody, a representative of the organization, says there is no consistent theme such as provider or software for those who didn’t receive the alert.
The organization will continue to work with wireless providers to ensure that, in the event of an actual emergency, everyone receives the proper notifications.
