A new agreement between the Provincial and Federal Governments will see the country invest 2.5 billion dollars in the employment of BC residents.
The agreement, which will cover the next six years, represents a 250 million dollar increase in funding over previous funding levels.
Investments will be split between the Workforce Development Agreement, and the Labour Market Development Agreement.
Funding will go towards: programs to help women and youth-at-risk gain full time employment, Indigenous peoples in trades training, 84 new WorkBC Employment Centres, a single parent initiative employment program, and a community employer partnership program, among others.
The new funding will benefit an estimated 84 thousand more British Columbians.
