Dairy farmers in BC are making their concerns known over US President Donald Trump’s recent comments regarding the Canadian Dairy Industry.
Trump was very critical of Canadian tarrifs on dairy products shipped to the US during this week’s G7 summit in Quebec.
Though Trump calls the tarrifs unfair, BC farmers say it would be unfair to small farms to charge less.
Canadian dairy farmers say they face more costs than the US version of the industry: they must keep cows warm and well fed in the winter, they have to pay workers a minimum wage, and they aren’t allowed to use hormones.
