British Columbia saw a 17 percent drop in housing starts in November when compared to November of last year.
With 3,152 total housing starts in the month, BC ranks third among all provinces in Canada, only trailing Ontario and Quebec.
In total, Canada saw a 12 percent drop compared to the same month last year, with 5 provinces registering less starts than 2017.
Saskatchewan took the largest hit with a 37 percent drop, while Prince Edward Island saw a 93 percent increase across the month.
When compared to October of this year, BC actually saw a 22 percent increase in housing starts, pacing Canada’s 5 percent mark.
Only Ontario and Saskatchewan reported drops from November to October.
