BC Ferries is starting a pilot project tomorrow allowing foot passengers to book reservations on line free of charge.
None of the routes for the pilot project are on the north or central coasts.
It says the test will apply for departures only from Tsawwassen to Salt Spring, Galiano, Pender or the Main Islands.
BC Ferries says it’s heard from walk-on passengers who said they’d like the option of making a reservation during the busy summer sailing season.
Those making reservations will need to pay fares in advance but there will still be space for those buying tickets at the terminal.
