As residents dawn their costumes and begin their trick-or-treat prep, the BC SPCA is urging residents to leave their pets out of the festivities.
According to the organization, a spike in runaways is often seen following Halloween, largely due to the animals being spooked by the loud noises, bright lights, and clusters of costumed people.
In order to avoid the unneccessary distress, and keep both animals and children safe, the SPCA is asking pet owners to leave their furry friends at home tonight.
