The BC Wild Fire Service is urging residents to be cautious if they’re planning to do open burns.
Officials say they responded to 79 fires last April and that ended up burning 14,000 hectares of land.
They say the current conditions are indicating there will be an early start to the fire season.
The Peace Region and Vanderhoof area are experiencing below-normal snow-pack levels and some areas in the Prince George Fire Centre are snow-free.
They are currently no restrictions in burning yet. Although, officials urge anyone planning to burn to check the conditions ahead of time.
