Wine shelves in BC grocery stores are set to undergo a major overhaul following the signing of the new United-States-Mexico-Canada-Agreement signed today.
Under the new trade agreement between the three countries, BC grocers will no longer be able to limit their wine shelves to just BC products.
Current regulations state that only BC wines may be sold in store, while imported wines must either be sold in specialized liquor stores or seperated liquor stores within the grocery stores.
The U.S. claims these restrictions gave BC wine producers an unfair advantage.
