Indigenous secondary school students saw an increased rate of 4 percent over the past year, bringing the overall rate to 70 percent for the year, 8 percent higher than just 4 years ago.
Minister of Education Rob Flemming credits a more modern curriculum, which accurately reflects the history of Indigenous students with the improved success rate.
There are currently 17 First Nations languages with approved curriculums in BC, with 6 more under development.
