A bear attack at a popular Prince George trail system has left a man with minor injuries.
Prince George RCMP says the 46-year-old was walking his dog in the Forests for the World area near UNBC Tuesday afternoon when the animal attacked.
Police and the BC Conservation Officer Service were called to the area. A sow bear and a cub were found and killed.
Officers located the man’s dog and it is believed to be okay. The man was treated in hospital.
The RCMP is reminding people to use extra caution while enjoying the outdoors. Police are recommending outdoor enthusiasts to pay attention to their surroundings, keep dogs on a leash, and make noise to avoid surprising animals like bears.
