Bizarre break-in prompts RCMP warning

Terrace RCMP are warning the public about keep their windows open during summer nights following a disturbing incident earlier this month.
Mounties say a man in a motel awoke to a stranger in his room around 4:30 am July 12th. When the resident yelled at the intruder to leave, the suspect grabbed the resident by the hair and began to punch the bed and mattress while screaming nonsense.
The motel resident dealt with the man for some time until the suspect threatened his life and then left.
Investigators say the suspect got into the room through an open window by removing the screen and had been in the room long enough to make food in the kitchen and rifle through the occupant’s truck.
The intruder is described as a First Nations male in his 20’s, standing 5’8″, weighing 170 pounds and wearing a blue shirt and dark khaki shorts.
RCMP say while leaving the window open can cool down your home, it allows criminals a chance to slip into your residence quietly.
Call Terrace RCMP or Crime Stoppers if you have any information about the case.
