The Cariboo Regional District has issued a boil water notice for users of the Lac La Hache water system.
Officials say the water system has been contaminated by bacteria, although no further details have been provided.
Residents are being asked to use hand sanitizer after washing their hands and to boil water for a minimum of one minute before drinking, cooking, and tooth brushing.
The CRD has contacted Interior Health to ask for help investigating the contamination.
