Burns Lake under Air Quality Advisory

Burns Lake residents with chronic health conditions are being advised to postpone any strenuous exercise for the time being due to pollution levels.

Northern Health and environment ministry have issued an air quality advisory for the village because of high concentrations of fine particulate in the air.

Exposure is a particularly a concern for infants, the elderly, and those with diabetes, heart, or lung disease.

Open burning and the use of wood stoves is banned in the Village of Burns Lake during air quality advisories, with the exception of homes that are heated solely by wood stoves.
