A Burns Lake teacher has been suspended after hosing down students for losing a game in class.
The province’s teacher regulator disciplined Margaret Kathleen Rayanne Charlie for hosing down students after losing a game.
The incidents took place last June and in 2015.
In the first incident in 2015, students who lost had water, vinegar, and flour poured on them.
After a parent complained to the school, Charlie agreed not to play the game again. She was later given a letter of discipline.
But last June, Charlie organized a game where the losing students were lined up and sprayed with a hose in front of their classmates.
They would be sprayed again if they lost another round.
One student required stitches and another sustained a sprained ankle.
Charlie was handed a one day suspension which was served on February 10th.
She has held a B.C. teaching certificate since 1982.
