An audit of Burns Lake area woodlots has revealed some troubling issues.
The audit found that all 7 woodlots examined in the region had failed to comply with either the Forest Range PRactices Act or the Wildfire Act.
Four of the lots in question had issues stemming from their failure to prepare fire hazard assessments.
The audit did, however, determine that the lots met all requirements for operational planning and timber harvesting.
All activities carried out between October of 2015 and October of 2017 were examined during the process.
