Police believe weather to be the primary factor in a bus crash that sent 16 passengers to hospital near Prince George yesterday.
The single vehicle collision occurred on Highway 97, near Mitchell Road, just before 4:00 yesterday afternoon.
The Canfor chartered bus had reportedly been transporting 30 plus workers from Prince George to their Polar sawmill near Bear Lake at the time of the incident.
According to RCMP, three passengers were intitially transported to hospital when crews arrived, including one in critical condition.
Later, the remaining passengers were transported to hospital as a precaution.
Emergency Health Services later clarified the numbers, stating that three passengers were in critical condition, one in serious condition, and 12 in stable condition.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, but say that a combination of snow and rain in the area is a leading factor.
