For any budding entrepreneur, $10,000 seed money and special recognition from your peers is a great way to start a business.
That’s the start Nathan Hoffart got last weekend when he won the grand prize in the ThriveNorth Business Challenge in the Best Social Enterprise Idea category.
Hoffart is a Terrace-based Registered Speech-Language Pathologist.
He says speech pathology includes a wide spectrum of services.
Focusing on children’s language abilities will pay dividends in the future.
Hoffart says there’s a strong demand for speech pathology services in the northwest, and he envisions his clinic to include other in-demand disciplines too.
He says it’s important to have services in the region so people won’t have to leave for Prince George, or even Vancouver to get the help they need, especially if they require long term support.
May is also Speech and Hearing Month, more information can be found at: maymonth.ca.
