The second Annual ThriveNorth Business Challenge was held over the weekend at Terrace’s REM Lee Theatre.

The business challenges sees contestants pitch their business plan to a panel of judges, and rewards are given for the best plan.

Heather Bohn of Kitsumkalum won $10,000 in the Best New Social Enterprise category.

Her plan is to open a coffee shop and eatery that will support a community space for young people and elders in Kitsumkalum, just west of Terrace.

She says the goal is to reconnect people to the land and food.

ThriveNorth provides emerging business owners with numerous resources such as training and mentoring.
