Kitimat Christmas Hamper Appeal

“The Kitimat Christmas Hamper Appeal is underway.  Those people wishing to receive a Christmas hamper can pick up an application form from the Kitimat Food Bank on Tuesdays & Thursdays between 1-3; Social Services Office, Food Share and Horizon House during their regular office hours.  Hampers will be delivered on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15TH and completed request forms need to be returned by December 5th.  Completed forms are to be dropped off at the Food Bank and, if closed, drop in the mail slot, or mailed to Box 20, V8C 2G6. We accept cash donations/cheques and these can be dropped off at the Food Bank, Envision Financial Credit Union where they can be receipted, or mailed to Box 20.  Donations of non-perishable food items or unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at Envision Financial Christmas Tree or Kitimat Insurance Services Henning Tree, upper level of City Centre Mall, during regular hours of operation.  We provide gifts for children 12 and under as well as for teens.  Gift cards from our local businesses make great gifts for teens.  Due to provincial Food Safe Rules for B.C. we are unable to accept home canned fish, fruit, vegetables etc.  Thank you for your support.”

sausage & bacon.Hosted by CMTN Foundation and as part of the Giving Tuesday movement,
all proceeds go toward financial aid, capital projects and programs for Coast Mountain College students.

#GivingTuesday is a movement to counteract the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a day dedicated to giving back to our communities.

Do you have some overdue fines owing on your Smithers Public Library account? This message is for you!

From December 1st to 15th, you can help spread some seasonal joy by paying your library fees with a donation of non-perishable food items. All donations will be delivered to Smithers Community Services Association (SCSA) to help fill their Christmas Hampers. Please note, if you pay your fines with cash during the first two weeks of December, it will also be donated to SCSA. Even if you don’t have anything owing, we are happy to pass on your food or cash donations.

Bring back those late books along with some good food to brighten someone’s holiday season!
