This is an information session for UNBC’s Gitxsan Developmental Standard Term Certificate (DSTC), which is a university credit program that prepares students to teach Gitxsanimx language and culture in schools.
This certificate is granted by the Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB) of the Ministry of Education. Upon completion, application is made to the TRB for the Developmental Standard Term Certificate.
The full program will meet the requirements for three separate UNBC credentials:
1. Certificate in First Nations Language;
2. Diploma in First Nations Language;
3. DSTC Certificate.
Upon successful completion of the DSTC students can transfer their credits to pursue a UNBC undergraduate degree, such as a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts (First Nations Studies), or a Bachelor of Social Work.
Andre’s Electronics in Terrace is having a BBQ Fundraiser for the people affected by the wildfires in Telegraph Creek!
On Saturday August 11th from noon to 2pm.
They will have hamburgers, hotdogs and cold drinks available by donation.
All proceeds will go towards helping those affected by the fires in Telegraph Creek.
This annual event is a chance for locals and visitors to celebrate the Haida Heritage Centre and its accomplishments. The Ḵay Anniversary offers Haida people a chance to share their culture with visitors, come together as a community, eat delicious food and showcase the living culture of the Haida people.
