A drifting cargo vessel off the west coast of Haida Gwaii has regained power and is on its way to the Puget Sound for repairs.
The MV North Star lost power yesterday due to an electrical issue.
The Canadian Coast Guard Ship Gordon Reid from Prince Rupert, along with the tug Smit Humber were immediately dispatched.
Another tug from Neah Bay in Washington state was also sent out.
The 65,000 ton ship came within approximately 20 nautical miles off Haida Gwaii.
The cargo ship managed to get one engine working last night, and will be escorted to the Puget Sound by the tug Jeffery Foss from Neah Bay.
