Federal Minister of Crown Indigenous Affairs Carolyn Bennett with Ryan Franke on Journeys!
Carolyn Bennett is the Minister of Crown and Indigenous Affairs for the Canadian Government. She was in the village of Witset to sign a tripartiate MOU agreement between the BC government, Canadian government and the Wet’suwet’en First Nation. The agreement gives the Wet’suwet’en First Nation jurisdiction over child and family services. It is the first agreement in Canada that recognizes and includes the hereditary chief system.
