Beginning at noon tomorrow, category 2 fires will once again be allowed within the Cariboo Fire Centre’s jurisdiction.
Decreased wildfire risks have prompted the BC Wildfire Service to lift the ban early, though the ban on category 3 fires will remain in place until September 29th.
This means that residents will be able to burn fires smaller than 2 thousand square metres, burn one or two piles at the same time, and use tiki torches, sky lanterns, burn barrels or cages, chimineas, air curtain burners, fireworks and exploding targets.
Residents are asked to check with their local authorities before starting a fire as they may have separate prohibitions in place.
