While we’re barely a month into spring, fire bans are starting to pop-up in the Cariboo region.
BC Wild Fire says category three fires will be prohibited on Thursday at noon throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre.
They say the restriction will last until the end of September, unless otherwise posted.
Category three includes fires that are larger than two metres high by three metres wide.
No more than three fires of that size can be burning at the same time.
The Cariboo Fire Centre encompasses an area of Cache Creek in the south, Quesnel in the north, Barkerville in the east, and Anahim Lake in the west.
