As the Union of BC Municipalities heads in to day 3 of their annual 5 day convention, cell phone reception in the northwest has become an unexpected focal point.
Members of local governments in the northwest are calling the vast dead spots in reception along Highway 16 west of Prince George unacceptable.
Even local health authority members say improvements to cell reception are necessary to better distribute emergency services.
Attendees of the convention are calling for provincial funding to give incentive to service providers to build the necessary infrastructure.
