Christmas meal served by Terrace and District Community Services Society today

The Terrace and District Community Services Society held their Christmas meal today at their soup kitchen at the All Nations Centre.

Between 11:30am and 1:30pm, approximately 75 people received a turkey dinner with all the trimmings along with dessert.

Philip Johnson is an outreach worker with the TDCSS.

He says besides the Thanksgiving and Christmas special meals, the organization provides food and shelter throughout the day.

Johnson says it’s not just the homeless or the unemployed needing help.

He adds many people in-between jobs also make use of their services, so they now have computers and printers for them to print out resumes and cover letters.

He says there’s a strong sense of community among the people who come in.

Johnson calls it a privilege to be able to help people.

If you’re interested in volunteering or donating, visit the main office at the TDCSS.
