The Terrace River Kings can win the CIHL championship this weekend. The River Kings are hosting the William Lake Stampeders Saturday in game two of the final series.
Both teams swept their opponents in the first round. The River Kings defeated the Quesnel Kangaroos 4-2 in the first game, and 6-2 in the second game to move on. The Stampeders took out the Prince Rupert Rampage. The Stampeders won the first game 8-4, and 7-3 in the second game.
Terrace and Williams Lake have already played a game in the final series, Terrace won that game in overtime 6-5. Terrace’s Ben Reinbolt had a monster night racking up 4 points.( 3 goals, and one assist) The River Kings’ Austin Turner was a playmaking machine with three assists, and Patti Leal was peppered with shots, he made 41 saves in the win.
The River Kings look for the sweep in game 2 Saturday night. Puck drop is at 7:00pm at the Terrace Sportsplex.
