The City of Terrace’s Leisure Department has spent the morning cleaning black spray paint off the dual viewers located up on the bench.
This is the second time vandals have struck the dual viewers. On November 5th of last year, red spray paint coated the eyepieces of the newly donated dual viewers.
The Northern Savings Credit Union gifted the viewers to the City in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday.
Brad Sousa, Working Foreman with the Leisures Department says he appreciates public calls when situations such as graffiti and other damage are done to any city-owned property.
Sousa adds he encourages people to call the department at 250 -615-3000 if any graffiti, damage or general unkept maintenance is noticed throughout the City or posted on social media. The department has and will continue to act quickly and efficiently to repair any vandalism in Terrace owned parks and structures.
RCMP were unaware of the recent repeat vandalism of the dual viewers.
